The Lady Mustangs took 1st place out of 12 at Huntington tonight in all-around team effort. 1st place finishers included the 4×200 relay team, Kasi Green in the 200m, Ashley Hegarty in the high jump, and Haylee Fleischmann in the shot put. Runner up finishes included Olivia Barnes in the 1600 and 3200, the 4×100 relay team, 4×400 relay team, and Peyton Proffitt in the pole vault. The 4×200 team also set a new meet record at 1:52.00.
The boys team took 2nd overall out of 13 teams. 1st place finishers included Charles Flunder in the 110 Hurdles, and Marcus Whaley in the 300 hurdles and pole vault. Other high finishers included Marty Link at 3rd in the pole vault, runner-up finishes by the 4×800 and 4×400 relay teams, 4th by the 4×200 team and Marty Link in the 110 hurdles, and 5th place finishes by Tyler Shipley in the 300 hurdles and Preston Clifton in the 3200. The boys team amassed 21 individual or relay personal bests tonight.
Tonight’s performance was the highest finish and point totals for both teams since 2009.
Both teams travel next on Friday, 4/26 for the Logan Elm Invitational.
